I’m an “ethnic New Yorker” from a military/entrepreneur family that moved us to LA when I was 7. Grew up in Diamond Bar, CA to be exact. Came to Seattle in 2004 managing a non-profit organization called the Tibetan Nuns Project. I have lived in India, Thailand, Australia, Turkey and Taiwan.
I have a BA in Anthropolgoy from UC Berkeley, and an MA from Brandeis University, Boston. My academic focus was working with refugee communities in Thailand and India preserving traditional crafts which led me to establishing my fair-trade wholesale business.
My career has spanned from working in non-proifit and Fair Trade consulting, sourcing and sales management to faculty teaching for experiential education programs with Princeton and Long Island University as well as loads of gap year programs in South and SouthEast Asia. Currently, I am an Organizational Development consultant and I run a little fair-trade store in downtown Roslyn. As for yoga and fitness, I come from the 80’s and taught step classes in my legwarmers! I’ve been practicing yoga for more than 20 years and have taught all over the world. I just finished another 200-hour teacher training program from BeLuminous studios in Seattle and am thrilled to share my practice with you all here at Sucasa on Wednesdays!
